I’ve been an equestrian for most of my life. I know the early mornings, the long drives, the last-minute tack changes, the nervous energy before a class, the adrenaline when everything comes together, and the absolute blissful exhaustion that follows.
These days, I’m not only juggling my own hopes and plans with my horse. I’m also witnessing a young equestrian find her own way through it as my daughter has also fallen in love with horses and all things riding.
And that changed the way I looked at everything.
Because when you’re responsible for getting a young rider and a horse ready for a show, you start noticing all of the little things that are capable of going missing. Likely five minutes before the course change.
Where did the gloves go?
Did we remember everything?
Where the **** is the boot polish?
What else needs to happen before we get on? (Quickly followed up by - please nothing else happen before we get on.)
Oh and my personal favorite - are we supposed to be somewhere right now?
None of these things are particularly glamorous.
But they do matter.
And that’s where my other life started colliding with my equestrian life.
My professional background is in marketing and sales. I’ve spent years thinking about customers, solving problems, creating better experiences, and figuring out why people choose one product over another.
Eventually, I started looking at the equestrian world through that same lens.
There are so many incredibly thoughtful products designed for horses and riders. There are companies obsessed with performance, craftsmanship, style and innovation.
But I kept coming back to the little frustrations.
The things that riders simply accept because, well… that’s just how it has always been done.
And I started wondering:
What if we didn't have to?
That question became the beginning of Ring Ready Equestrian.
I don't have a giant company behind me.
I don't have a warehouse full of inventory.
I don't have a massive product development team.
What I do have is a lifetime of experience as a rider, a front-row seat to the realities of supporting a young equestrian, and a professional background that has taught me to look at problems differently.
So I decided to see what would happen if I combined all three.
Ring Ready is being built around a simple idea:
The little details matter.
The details that help riders stay organized.
The details that make show days a little smoother.
The details that help parents, trainers, grooms and support teams spend a little less time searching and a little more time doing what they came to do.
And right now, Ring Ready is still being built.
I'm figuring things out. I'm talking to engineers. I'm learning about manufacturing. I'm testing ideas. I'm asking questions I never thought I'd have to ask.
And I'm bringing you along for it.
Because this isn't a story about a perfect company that appeared fully formed.
It's the story of a rider who noticed a problem and decided to see if she could fix it.
Welcome to Ring Ready.
